When A& F opened its stores in UK the pricing was termed as double of the prevailing price in US. In spite of there were demands for the A&F products. The company was targeted by some people for its publicity on its T Shirts depicting Asians with slanted eyes and the wordings also hurt the sentiments of certain people. Some of its words on the T shirts were considered as anti Christian. Some Christian schools in US went on banning wearing of A& F T shirts in their campuses. The legal battle the company had to take up to tackle these controversies affected its popularity and sales to some extent. Besides this the racial discrimination practice of the company was also criticized.
